A showhome we designed for longstanding client, Barratt Homes, has been officially opened by the Chair of Westham Parish Council, Councillor Daniel Upton.
Cllr. Upton unveiled our design for the four-bedroom Lavenham showhome at Hawthorn Grove in Westham as part of a series of launches for Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes.
Together with members of the Barratt Homes team, Cllr. Upton was invited for an exclusive preview of the showhome before it opened to the public. During the tour, Cllr. Upton was able to see how we took inspiration from the surrounding landscape, including Pevensey Bay Beach and the South Downs, to create a modern, outdoorsy design.
“The Lavenham show home features a palette of natural, earthy tones with warm accents,” explains our head of design, Estelle Palmer. “Subtle coastal references can be found in the artwork and detailing, including scallop-edge furniture in the primary and guest bedrooms.
“An emphasis on sustainability is evident throughout, with natural materials such as woods, clay and rattan evident in the furniture choices and accessories.
“We designed this showhome with an older demographic in mind, imagining it serving as the focal point for all family gatherings. One of our favourite rooms is the standalone dining room. This light and bright space benefits from dual aspect windows and has plenty of room for an 8-seater dining table, enabling family and friends to be entertained. Then not to be missed is the bedroom for visiting grandchildren where we have designed a playful mermaid theme with seashell light fittings, mermaid wall art and a painted ceiling canopy,” adds Estelle.
Cllr. Daniel Upton, Chair of Westham Parish Council concludes: “It was wonderful to visit Hawthorn Grove and Brookwood Meadows to see the show homes and wider site plans come to life. We look forward to working closely with Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes as these new Westham communities grow.”
