A ‘hygge’ home in Charfield

We designed this show home to have a Scandinavian aesthetic and create an ‘hygge’ environment. Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) is a Danish word that can be defined as togetherness, relaxation, indulgence, presence and comfort. It is the pursuit of everyday happiness and it embraces candle light, soft textures and cosy situations.

Our designers combined industrial and Scandi elements with natural woods and soft textures including wools, faux furs and plenty of greenery to create an on-trend family home.

The relaxed dining area in the kitchen diner has a seating bench as well as more formal chairs for a relaxed dining experience and the rustic wood and metal is a very contemporary look.

The large corner sofa in the living room that is piled with cushions and throws is the perfect area for a family to enjoy a movie together. The master bedroom features a wood effect wallpaper, bringing int he natural elements as so loved by the Danes as does the headboard and bedside lamps in the guest bedroom.

Jennie Rolfe, Marketing Manager at Crest Nicholson South West:

“We are delighted with show homes at Charfield. The brief was listened to, understood and delivered exceeding our expectations.

“It is one of the sales team’s favourite show homes even though not necessarily the largest.  The quality of furniture and fittings and use of texture showcases aspirational living.
