Two stunning spacious retirement apartments in the Cotswolds
These two penthouse retirement apartments in the stunning location of Bourton-on-the-Water required furnishing in a classic style that best demonstrated the sizeable space.
Using a mix of colours and patterns in both, we created welcoming spaces that wowed both our client and their customers.
Robert Monkman, Sales and Marketing Director, McCarthy & Stone West Midlands said:
In this apartment we used a muted, pastel colour palette with floral touches and tactile fabrics. The living room is spacious and it was important for us to be able to demonstrate how it could be furnished to create two ‘zones’ in the room and still feel homely. There is an understated elegance to the room.
The second bedroom was made up as a day room/office using a gorgeous multi-drawer desk and open shelving unit, whilst the master bedroom continues the soft, elegant look with a paisley wallpaper and shapely upholstered headboard.
“The designers really listened to what we wanted to achieve and delivered two amazing designs. Both apartments fit the brief perfectly – there is a real WOW factor as you walk in to them.”
We went for a bolder colour scheme in this apartment, choosing a vibrant chartreuse for the living room and woodland-inspired wallpaper in the guest bedroom. A neutral base throughout ensures it is suitable for the demographic along with classic light fittings and artwork. The dining area is a very elegant space with the double mirrors creating a grand area perfect for hosting friends and family.
“The team at Edward Thomas Interiors really exceeded our expectations. They really understand our brand and never fail to produce inspiring designs.”
