One of our charity partners this year is Emmaus, a UK-based charity offering accommodation, companionship and support to people who’ve been homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Coventry and Warwickshire area. With the support of the local community, Emmaus provides people with a fresh start, they can stay as long as they wish and have opportunities to acquire new skills at the same time.
We’ve been working with the team to identify and donate items of ex-showhome furniture that can be reused or upcycled. Last week, we donated three full vans of furniture which Emmaus will use in their shops, accommodation and for their companions to repurpose and sell on.
Falishia Channer, Emmaus’ Operations Manager commented: “We would like to thank Edward Thomas Interiors for their large donation of showhome furniture. We are really grateful when companies go out of their way to help charities, and the support from all the team during collection did not go unnoticed! Thank you again for your generosity.”
Steve Hird, our director added: “As a longstanding supplier to the housebuilding industry, we understand the aspiration of a home is a dream many people have but that not everyone gets to realise. And that one of the hardest places to start is from scratch. By partnering Emmaus, we aim to help those who have faced homelessness to rebuild their lives in a safe and stable environment. The furniture we’ve donated has previously inspired many house hunters and now has a second chance to be used to create comfortable and stylish accommodation, or help people unlock their creativity or learn new skills. We’re thrilled to support such a great cause and make a positive impact in our community.”
